Uri Maayan
Independent ML engineer. I build complete AI systems solo — and I go deeper than most, down to the GPU kernels, the SDE solvers, and the math underneath.

Chemical-engineering M.Sc. by training; independent ML engineer by what I've built since. I like problems where the system, the math, and the physics all matter at once — Hebrew RAG over messy inputs, multi-camera CV under real-time constraints, porting models onto hardware the upstream code never expected. The case studies show the range; the research page shows how deep it goes.
Stick–slip dynamics from the Prandtl–Tomlinson model — the tip climbs linearly through stick phases and drops abruptly through slip events. Canonical friction-at-the-atomic-scale signature, and the core object of my thesis.

Research
Interactive simulations grounded in my thesis on friction at the atomic scale — stick–slip dynamics, stochastic integration, and polymer unfolding. This is the depth under the systems above.

Writing
Long-form technical write-ups — starting with porting Mamba2's selective-scan kernels onto consumer AMD ROCm.
